We’re taking a chance, but I’m excited. She’s going 5 ½ furlongs but NOT on the grass. She’ll travel to Presque Isle Downs in Erie, PA and will compete on the synthetic surface. Longtime readers will know that Linda feels Ahvee’s Destiny is a grass horse. However, many grass horses do well on synthetic. Since success here would open more races to us in the future, we’re giving it a try, even though “Destiny” could use a little more flesh on her bones. She’s a little thin.
Don’t know who the rider will be (ignore the CC Lopez listing. He’s racing elsewhere). We’re asking Johnny Velasquez and Ramon Dominguez but if they can’t make it, we’ll go with, local rider, Harry Vega.
The race entry is linked below. Aside from the $100K purse, this is an important race for her. We’ll be on the edge of our seats probably watching on TV. GO AHVEE’S DESTINY!
Best,
A.
